Applying logos

Is the method of applying a logo the same on different surfaces?

No, it cannot be the same due to the unique characteristics of each surface type. Fabrics, plastics, metals, and glass differ in their structure, and each material requires its own method of applying a design. However, on similar surfaces, such as glass and plastic, similar methods of application can be used. We always recommend the most reliable and durable option.

What are the methods of logo application?

Let’s first explore the methods of logo application and clarify which method is most suitable for each type of surface. Here we go!

☑️ One of the most common methods is screen printing or silk screen printing. This is the process of applying a logo or text using a stencil (printing form) through which ink is transferred onto the object. It is suitable for materials such as metal, plastic, wood, and textiles.

☑️ Pad printing is a method of applying a logo with ink to a solid surface (logo on pens, lighters, ashtrays, mugs, etc.) using a flexible and elastic pad. This method allows the logo to be applied to almost any solid object. Pad printing is often used for small items like pens, mugs, keychains, and more.

☑️ Decal printing involves applying a design to ceramics, glass, or porcelain through high-temperature firing. The logo is initially printed on rubberized paper, then applied to the item, and finally fired in a kiln. This method is highly durable and resistant to external factors.

☑️ Embossing allows for a raised design on various surfaces such as cardboard, leather, faux leather, and paper. The application is done using a special form or metal cliché for decorative purposes. This branding method is often used on diaries, business card holders, and wallets.

☑️ Laser engraving is a method of applying a logo to various souvenir products using a laser. The main advantage of this technique is its ability to apply a logo to virtually any surface, including glass, metal, leather, wood, plastic, and more. The markings and images created by laser engraving become an integral part of the product and are resistant to wear and tear, ensuring durability and resistance to external factors.

☑️ Heat transfer involves transferring an image to a surface using heat and pressure, typically done with heat press machines and transfer films.

☑️ Sublimation. Images are printed using sublimation inks on paper (cut out with silk-screen printing) in a ‘mirrored’ orientation and then transferred to the substrate under the influence of temperature and pressure.

☑️ And of course, embroidery! It’s the highest quality but more expensive method for logo application on fabrics. The logo is bright, voluminous, and retains its clarity even after washing. Embroidered logos are resistant to chemicals and do not lose color after washing, bleaching, or dry cleaning. Embroidery is reliable and durable.

Can each of these methods handle any design or logo?

Unfortunately, no. For example, very small elements that are typical of laser engraving are not suitable for embroidery.

What about the cost of these production methods?

This question is more appropriate for a specific order. In general, the more complex and durable the application method, the more expensive it is. For example, laser engraving and decal printing will be more expensive than traditional pad printing or heat transfer.

We hope that now our valued clients will have a better understanding of the various methods of branding promotional products, and we will assist you in choosing the most suitable option for your needs.
